Almost Spring!

YES, it's been a while!  A lot has been happening on the farm, and at the same time, not much has been happening. Let me explain...

So, as most of you probably know, winter is a very slow time on the farm. Very little has happened in my animal world. In the other sections of my life however, it's quite hectic. Since it's been like 6 months since my last post, let me back up a bit. In November of last year, I left my part time job at the pig farm and started focusing on school. This is my last year of highschool and I am very much looking forward to graduating! After that, it's on to college. It's unclear whether or not I'll be able to take classes over the summer, so I will probably be working until fall classes start. I hope to get a job working for a general contractor this spring. Still have to finish up all my highschool stuff though. Nothing is set in concrete. It's all up in the air. We'll see how things play out.

Kittens, Free Chicks, And Just Pictures in General

Puppy had kittens! Now, after looking back and forth between that word and the pictures you may have figured it out but I'll go ahead and explain it to the others. Puppy is the name of our cat. More specifically, my sister Laura's cat. She had 5. Anyway, I know y'all prolly want pictures so I'll shut up now.

So, I went to our local feed store for dog food and they had a bunch of chicks for sale. Actually, they had had them there for a long time and nobody was buying them! They were starting to feather out. I know the folks there and they offered to let me have some for free. Can't beat that! I picked out a variety of 3 Bantam Barred Rocks, 3 Cinnamon Queens, and 2 White Leghorns.

Snow Pictures!

Yes, I know, it's been a while. Hey, I'm not perfect either! I've been keeping up(ish) on youtube though! So, if you'd like to be getting updates and such head on over there by scrolling down all the way and a link should pop up. (new feature :D )
